Public Meeting Midleton Flood Relief Plan

Cork County Council, acting as a. Following the flooding in Midleton in December 2015, Midleton & Area
Chamber of Commerce convened a public meeting to allow those affected by the flood. They are
now convening a public meeting to update all the stakeholders affected.
Representatives from Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce met with Mr Colm Brennan,
Executive Engineer, Coastal Management and Flood Projects Department, and the project manager
of the Midleton Flood Relief project, on Thursday in County Hall.
At the meeting Mr Brennan outlined the project objectives and programme estimates. He explained
that the brief for consultants would be published on etenders website by end of June. They expect
to receive the responses to the consultants by end of September. President Seamus Cunningham
was delighted to hear that real progress had been made in resolving this issue.
Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce are now convening a public meeting on Monday, June
27th at 6:15 in Midleton Park Hotel. We have invited Mr Brennan to the meeting to outline the
project objectives and project stages and project timelines of the proposed flood relief scheme.
