MIDLETON FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 10TH 2016

The Midleton food and drinks festival goes ahead again this year on Saturday 10th September and is not a date to be missed in your diary. The festival showcases all that is good in East Cork and its fertile hinterland. Truly delicious foods, displayed with skill, invite you to taste what’s showcased for yourself.
The town of Midleton starts to buzz from 6am when frantic efforts are made to put this food jigsaw together. By 9am aromas and music fill the air and the banter of people discussing the day ahead is palpable.
The origins of Midleton as a market town goes back to 1608. Its Farmers Market held every Saturday throughout the year joins the festival on this date to proudly display its goods. The market and the streets of Midleton become a multi-coloured extravaganza of all that is good in East Cork and showcased with pride on this day. The day is a special day to meet family and friends walk hand in hand with children and loved ones and tastes the delights. As a visitor on the day you will be surprised with what’s on offer, made laughed and entertained by street artists and toe tapping to the many and varied musical acts throughout.
This year the festival organisers are spreading and showcasing Midleton at various locations on the week leading up to the festival starting on Sunday 4th September to Saturday 10th.
The event as usual is supported and organised through The Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce and its staff and the event Coordinator John Hartnett.
